It has been awhile since my last posting. June 15, 2020 to be exact. I had thought the election season would engender many posts discussing the events unfolding in the election and pandemic. Yet I remained silent. I would like to blame it all on life itself. Issues due tend to confuse the day especially when in a pandemic and locked down. But that would only be partially true. I chose not to post because I had no thoughts to offer that weren’t already being offered. I was no more aghast at the revelations of the Orange One and had become numb to his repeated lies and ignorance. What was to add to this filth and pile of excrement he and his lackeys thrust upon us during the election cycle. He had made a mockery of our country, our laws, and our democracy. He cared not for any rule of law, but his. He cared for no one but himself. He offered nothing and gave nothing.
Then when we finally gained a ray of hope in the greatest election of our lifetime if not in the history of the country, he sullied that as well. He and his minions lied, threatened, cajoled, cried and whined about how they had been cheated. They professed their need to reaffirm the legitimacy of the election for their 74 million voters while simultaneously conveniently ignoring the 81 million that voted to oust this stain on humanity. What could have been a glorious moment for Democracy, the country, and the world was taken away form us by the tattered tantrums of a man-child that didn’t get his way. We couldn’t celebrate our victory because he didn’t win. What utter selfishness and greed. We slogged through and agonized over weeks and weeks of frivolous lawsuits hoping that those idiot appointments he made cared more for the law than him or politics. In the end, they did. We could breath a sigh of relief, but only for a moment.
We now have to live through the debacle of rogue Senators and Congressmen and Women sucking up to the teat of the malevolent orange ignorant child. They are now taking a routine event meant to highlight the peaceful transfer of power and are trashing it into a partisan tirade. Once again, our moment of joy, our bit of victory is dashed against the rocks. He cannot have anyone cheer anyone but him. He cannot abide anyone revealing in his demise. The worthless blob stains every event he touches.
So, I didn’t write. It seemed useless. There were multitudes of pundits making their voices heard. Plus, you just could not and cannot keep up with the tsunami of outrageous events. Once you began a post to condemn one event, another event of even greater proportions or meaning was taking place. It was exhausting trying to keep up. I became a recluse watching and waiting in apprehension, willing time to pass so we could rid ourselves of this overpowering pestilence and I do not mean COVID19.
Now we sit and wait to find out if Georgia, sweet Georgia, will relieve us of not only this turd on humanity, but the omnipresent obstruction to growth and new ideas that is Senator McConnell. Kentucky couldn’t or wouldn’t get it done. But we have a chance. Just a chance in Georgia to make him irrelevant in setting the policy of the nation. It has been a long four years, but the last 7 months have overshadowed and out done those previous 42 months exponentially. I sit an wait in anticipation of Georgia’s results. I watch carefully as the lickspittles are rendered incompetent and irrelevant in the Senate. It will be done. And when we draw a breath, and we will, we will see that the most of us are really the best of us. That will be a moment to treasure and even the dark stain won’t be able to obstruct.
