A light read for the beach or a rainy afternoon at home. The Boat speculates on what would happen if the current POTUS could not be found? If the POTUS disappeared. The book encompasses many of the left-wing conspiracies and asks what would happen if someone acted upon them. It is a fantasy. A curiosity developed from frustrations and the younger generations irritation that the Boomer generation just won’t leave the political stage.
Description
This story was written in March and April of 2026. In all respects the United States was in turmoil, polarized, and depending on which side you pledged yourself it was all the other guy’s fault. While listening to another rant from my son he once again decreed that the whole situation would be different if we could just get the Boomers to leave the political stage.
Being an author, loving conspiracies, and decidedly left-wing I took that simple statement and wondered what if all the left leaning conspiracy theories were true? Then I expanded the thought as writers often do and wondered what would happen if a POTUS was ever kidnapped? Would the puppeteers reveal themselves? How could you kidnap a POTUS?
I put all these thoughts into a mental stew. I sprinkled in new high tech wealth, added a conspiracy of hidden wealth, layered in recent events with a liberal twist, plotted kidnapping ideas, and ended up with this story. If it bears any resemblance to current and future events it is only by Providence’s own miracle.
It was written for fun and often because of frustrations. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. By the way. Many of the locations referenced in this story are real. If possible, you may want to visit them. They might enjoy the tourist dollars. Well, all but Gaza. They just want peace. … D.L.
